As discussed in class, there are a variety of qualities of crystals out there. Your stone comes from: Crystal River Gems. Another great shop if you would like to support a small business from my hometown, Benicia, CA, is Cartel Crystals. I personally know the owner and she has very high quality pieces.

How to tell the difference between natural crystals and lab grown crystals: (By @cartelcrystals on Instagram)
1. Formation Environment Natural Crystals: Formed over millions of years under varying conditions of temperature, pressure, and chemical environment within the Earth. This natural process can result in impurities and unique inclusions, giving each crystal its distinct character. Lab-Grown Crystals: Created in controlled environments over a much shorter period, often days or weeks. This process allows for precise control over purity, composition, and structure, resulting in more uniform and defect-free crystals.
2. Inclusions and Impurities: Natural Crystals: Often contain inclusions (foreign materials trapped during crystal growth) and a variety of impurities, which can affect their color, clarity, and overall appearance. Lab-Grown Crystals: Generally have fewer inclusions and can be made with minimal impurities, leading to higher clarity and consistency.
3. Growth Patterns Natural Crystals: Exhibit complex growth patterns influenced by the natural geological environment, including variations in temperature, pressure, and the presence of other minerals. Lab-Grown Crystals: Have more regular and predictable growth patterns due to the controlled conditions in which they are produced.
4. Rarity and Value: Natural Crystals: Often considered more valuable and rare due to their unique characteristics and the lengthy time required for their formation. Lab-Grown Crystals: Usually less expensive and more readily available, although some high-quality lab-grown crystals can be quite valuable.
5. Energy and Metaphysical Properties: Natural Crystals: Many believe that natural crystals hold unique energies and metaphysical properties derived from the Earth's natural processes. Lab-Grown Crystals: Some people think that lab-grown crystals lack the same energetic qualities because they do not undergo the same natural formation processes.
