Steven Kagan, Board Certified Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon 
February 21st - 22nd
Steven Kagan MD is a board-certified vascular and endovascular surgeon who received his surgical training at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA and the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He has received numerous teaching awards and is a Castle Connolly "Top Doctor" with over 30 years of clinical experience treating all vascular disorders including artery, vein and lymphatic disorders. He has practiced in both academic and community settings and continues to actively practice vascular disease management. In his free time, he is an avid golfer, fly fisherman and workout enthusiast who especially enjoys coming to Woodloch with his wife and adult children.

Venous Health: Varicose Veins and Other Venous Conditions

Vein disease (e.g. varicose veins, deep vein thrombosis, venous insufficiency) affects more people in the USA than PAD. Vein disease prevalence also increases with age; thankfully, vein disease is rarely limb-threatening. We will discuss preventive strategies as well as many safe and effective treatments for peripheral venous disease.

Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD): Causes, Prevention and Treatment

PAD is caused by atherosclerosis which is the buildup of plaque in our arteries; it can lead to heart attacks, strokes and limb loss. PAD affects nearly 20 million people in the USA alone. The prevalence of PAD increases with age and is highest in adults over the age of 70. We will discuss all aspects of PAD including risk factors, prevention, diagnosis and management.
